  2. DEFINITION • COMMUNITY SERVICE: • 1. An unpaid service for the benefit of the public that is performed by lawbreakers as part (or all) of their sentence. • 2. Services volunteered by individuals or an organization to benefit a community or its institutions.

  3. EXAMPLES OF COMMUNITY SERVICE Childs playing violin to earn money for a health organization Fixing the ground for a School

  4. 1st experience in VSU • Relay For Life: • Main volunteer - driven cancer fundraising event of the American Cancer Society. Originating in the United States, the Relay For Life event has spread to 21 countries.

  8. 2nd Experience in VSU • Blazer Raiser: • It is a fundraiser that helps student - athletes at VSU to earn some money for their sport by selling t –shirts, etc. Then, this money is spent on our tennis team competition trips.

  13. Benefits to me • The Community Service experience helped me to understand the meaning of “ making something to others” without getting money. I really feel good when I help others and they enjoy it.
