Surreal Techniques: • Distortion: warping, twisting, melting, liquifying, fragmenting, exploding, etc. • Reversal/Inversion: ex. fish out of water, deer hunting a man. • Illogical Scale/Size: Make a usually small thing extremely large, or a usually soft and furry thing hard with spikes. (ex: a rabbit made of nails). • Combination of illogical things: ex. An ocean in the desert, fish in the clouds. • Out of Bounds: The subject is breaking out of their expected/usual environment and entering an illogical setting. (Ex: shark painting coming alive and breaking out of the frame and entering a small room).
