  4. What is AV? • using two of the five senses, audio and visual, to connect people to worship. • four basic parts (in it's importance) • audio mixing • visual projection • rack lighting • audio recording

  5. AV inspiration • A picture is worth a thousand words • Visual metaphor • Every artist was first an amateur.  • Vision is the art of seeing what is invisible to others. • When I make art, I think about its ability to connect with others, to bring them into the process.

  8. AV • Maintain AV system • Update song order • play DVDs • Create announcement slides • pictures • text • upload media • select motion backgrounds for songs

  10. Sound Board • tune up for Sunday • ensure all connections are working • troubleshooting for any problems • adjust channels for new equipment • all effects are in working order • train others to use system

  13. Audio Recording (Create CDs) • Acquire a system to record audio digitally • operate equipment • effects for audio • edit original audio recording to format for CDs • burn / duplicate CDs • Print onto CDs

  17. What's it all for? • To reveal and share the gospel to the Windsor community.

  18. Traits of an AV Volunteer • Able to think ahead • Enjoys music • is willing to try something new, get creative • Able to picture the end result • knows when it is time to play and when it is time to work' • thinks this is fun

AV Leader will • show up on time • take the initiative to: • ensure that things are ready to go for Sunday Worship • ensure that all positions are filled • make the next innovative move (create something new) • communicates with others to stay current • receive mentorships from others and trains and mentors with others.

My Wish • always three people in the back • one leader • one worker • one trainee • My computer gets replaced with a CD recorder on a sound rack / big bertha • A graphic arts team to create content for Sunday worship, announcements, banners, t-shirts, children's ministry. • to replace my responsibilities.
