North Inlet-Winyah Bay Coastal Training Program • Background • Grant-funded through a NOAA/ University of SC partnership • 1 of 2 Coastal Training Programs in SC and 1 of 26 in the nation • Attained ‘fully implemented’ status in 2002 • Target audiences determined through market analysis to identify gaps in available training • Direction of program driven by target audience needs assessments (updated every 3 years)

North Inlet-Winyah Bay Coastal Training Program • (Select) Objectives • Provide topical, participatory science-based training • Broaden – in number and scope – partnerships surrounding coastal resource management issues • Extend time frame over which the ecological and social consequences of human activity within the coastal zone are considered • Promote public investment and participation in local policy decisions
