  2. STANDARDS OF CARE • Ways and means by which services should be rendered • ACSM, AHA, AFAA, ACE, AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF CARDIOVASCULAR AND PULMONARY REHABILITATION • Choice of guidelines based on purposes and methods of services, use of technology, medically related protocols and clientele

  3. NATIONAL REGISTRY • ACSM plans to implement a national registry for clinical exercise physiologists to advance patient care • This credential will require special liability insurance, rigorous standards of practice and individualized legal counsel in their jurisdictions

  4. SUMMARY • Be knowledgeable about the standards of practice in your work situation • Be familiar with the guidelines and adhere to the rules • Get everything in writing
