WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SIL AND SDA? NECESSITYHOUSING.COM
For participants who require high levels of care, Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) is a type of disability housing. The daily on-site support services known as Supported Independent Living (SIL) help people live independently in SIL and SDA homes.
Difference between SIL and SDA homes SDA homes must adhere to highly strict building regulations, although SIL residences are exempt from such rules. SDA homes fall into one of four groups, each with unique construction specifications.
Difference between SDA providers and SIL providers SDA providers get SDA assets through direct purchases or partnerships with investors. In SDA and SIL homes, SIL providers provide onsite supports for supported independent living (SIL). Running an SDA property requires both SIL and SDA providers. For SDA participants to freely switch SIL assistance without having to relocate, both SDA and SIL providers must be two distinct organisations.
At Necessity Housing, we have a range of SDA approved homes that will suit 1 participant, 2 participant and 3 participants.
