the FIA Institute | 30.07.09 Officials programme • The strategy • Develop a best practice framework (Apr ‘09) • Accredit ASNs who align to the framework (guidelines distributed May ‘09) • Develop a train the trainer programme (Q4 ‘09) • Facilitate knowledge exchange between ASNs (Q4 ‘09) • Financially support projects (annually) The goal The primary goal of the enhanced Officials Safety Training Programme is to actively facilitate the increase in competency levels of officials from around the world.
the FIA Institute | 30.07.09 Drivers programme • The strategy • Develop a best practice framework (Apr ‘09) • Develop young driver academy (Feb ‘10) • Facilitate knowledge exchange between ASNs (Q4 ‘09) • Financially support projects (annually) • Provide scholarships for selected drivers to attend academy (annually) The goal The primary objectives of the enhanced Young Driver Safety Programme are to actively facilitate the development of young drivers from around the world, promote driver safety amongst young motor sport competitors and foster sustainable pathways from entry level (grass roots) to international competition.
the FIA Institute | 30.07.09 Facility programme • The strategy • Establish partnership with industry leader (May ‘09) • Develop a best practice framework (Jul ‘09) • Provide specialist advice to ASNs (from ‘10) • Financially support projects (annually) The goal The primary objectives of the Facility Improvement Programme are to improve the safety standards and the economic and environmental sustainability of motor sport facilities around the world, especially in developing motor sport regions.

the FIA Institute | 30.07.09 Funding model • Summary • Funding is to be split between the 3 different programmes • Minimum funding distributed on these programmes circa €32 million • Funding is to be split between 5 different geographical zones to encourage equitable distributions and to stimulate the creation of “regional training providers” • Geographical zones will include: • Zone 1: North, Central & South America (24 ASNs) • Zone 2: Western & Northern Europe (18 ASNs) • Zone 3: Central & Eastern Europe (27 ASNs) • Zone 4: Middle East & Africa (39 ASNs) • Zone 5: Asia & Oceania (19 ASNs) • Funding is to be split over a minimum of 5 years (2009 – 2013)
