History of Skip Barber Racing School 1960’s Skip Barber competes in Formula One He realizes the need to teach others professionally – similar to other top level sports 1975 started the Skip Barber Racing School with 11 race cars. 1976 started first season of amateur racing with top level instructors and equally prepared and maintained race cars
History of Skip Barber Racing School (cont.) 1980-2000 the company grows and becomes North America’s largest and best Racing School and amateur race series Became aware of the need to train and promote up and coming karters in to auto racing 1997 created the Skip Barber Karting Shootout
Goals of Karting Shootout/Young Driver Programme Promote grass root Karters into entry level auto racing Provide a level playing field to showcase talent Teach skills for safe auto racing Teach skills that can save lives on the street
Promote Karters 1. Integrated with karting organizations throughout North America Signage/Advertisement Contingency programs Scholarships/Awards
Level playing field 2. Shootout is in Skip Barber owned race cars – all identical Equally prepared and tested First experience to driving street cars and race cars Showcase talent, not karting experience

Alliance with the FIA Institute MSSDF Perfect alignment The primary objectives of the young driver safety programme are to promote driver safety amongst young motor sport competitors, actively facilitate the development of young drivers from around the world and foster sustainable pathways from entry-level (grass-roots) to international competition.
