Welsh Government Tenancy Reform: Dedicated Bill • Will affect both social and private rented housing • Modelled closely on Law Commission’s 2006 proposals http://lawcommission.justice.gov.uk/areas/renting-homes.htm • Landlord-neutral legal framework • Clarity of rights and responsibilities • 2 model contracts: secure contract based on LA secure; periodic contract similar to assured shorthold tenancy • Improved framework for supported housing • Longer timescale to enable necessary engagement
