R10. CEI KT Research Project • Purpose: Evaluates the impact of 3 different levels of technical assistance to 9 communities implementing Community Engagement (CE) to address barriers to health care and recreation • CE uses public forums to probe for barriers and develop solutions • Three categories of KT TA: KT Minimal (materials only); KT Moderate (materials and training); KT Intensive (materials, training & co-facilitation)
R10. CEI KT Research Project • Research Questions: • Will graduated levels of KT result in differential results in identifying and ameliorating barriers? • What components of the CEI will be adopted, modified, or dropped, and what components added under different KT assistance conditions? • Will removing barriers to health care and recreation result in an increase in community participation?
R10. CEI KT Research Project Outcome Measures: • Adherence/Change to CE Process • Action Logs (# Meetings, time, actions taken) • Modified Larsen’s utilization scale (#, type, and level of barrier amelioration) (Post) • Opportunity Index (resolved barriers) (Post) • Community Participation and Perceived Receptivity Survey (Health Care and Public Parks sections only) (Pre- Post)
R10. CEI KT Research Project • Do the intervention and outcome measures have face validity from your perspective? • Suggestions for improving study design or intervention? • Are results potentially useful/valuable? • Is this useful to you? • How can it be improved to be useful to you?
