  3. Implementation To facilitate implementation: Secured time with Matron’s and Senior Clinical Staff Revised training packages – now CSTP Developed a handbook for LCAT training Delivered a series of workshops DBHNHSFT

  4. Categories Communication: Introductions, Explanations, Listening, Consent Safety: Patient I.D. Labels, Procedure specific Infection Prevention:Hands, P.P.E, Waste Procedural Competence:Can they do it safely! Team Working: Documents, Communicates with team, Clears kit DBHNHSFT

  6. Using the Grading Criteria Decide the applicable competencies for the skill Observe the candidate’s performance Allocate a level that describes the performance for each category Use your professional judgment DBHNHSFT

  7. Criteria for LCAT Assessors Completion of LCAT Training Senior Clinical Staff Teaching/Assessing Qualification Competent in skill being assessed Familiarity with Trust/National Guidelines DBHNHSFT

  8. Group Work Watch the scenario and do an LCAT assessment. Do not discuss your scores with fellow course members Group discussion on scores DBHNHSFT
