  2. GDAHC Mission As the region’s leading healthcare coalition of leaders in business, labor, health care, health plans, government and consumers, GDAHC strives for continuous improvement in quality, cost effectiveness and accessibility of healthcare

SLSD Strategy • Goals: • 100 percent adherence to select clinical guidelines • Save $500 million over three years or reduce rate of southeast Michigan (SEM) health care expenditures by 1-3 percent. • Strategy: Align all SEM stakeholders to: • Adopt standard performance metrics and measure performance • Accelerate compliance with evidence-based guidelines • Pay providers based on performance metrics • Report performance to the public

An Overview of Results-to-Date (selected) • Developed an aggressive multi-stakeholder business plan • Brought more than 100 diverse southeastern Michigan organizations and leaders together to drive change • Adopted standard national quality measures for inpatient and ambulatory care • All major health plans agreed to provide hospital incentives for performance on a uniform set of targeted metrics • Launched public website to report hospital quality performance and address health plan ambulatory metric reporting – www.savelivessavedollars.org • Awarded one of only four national Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Aligning Forces for Quality (AF4Q) Grants

Community Leader Designation • The recognition honors GDAHC as part of an expanded network of region-based organizations focused on improving the quality of health care while reducing health care cost inflation. • GDAHC will support four key national health care goals and work to achieve those goals at the local and regional level: • public reporting of quality of care • public reporting of the cost of health services • interoperable health information technology • and incentives for achieving better value in health care.
