What positions can you run for? • Club: • President • Vice President • Secretary • Treasurer • Bulletin Editor • Some clubs may choose to have more than 1 Vice President as well as Editor (not Bulletin Editor) MRS Information and resources provided by the District Members Relations Committee 2011-2012

  3. What positions can you run for? • Divisional: • Lieutenant Governor • District: • Governor • Secretary • Treasurer • Tech Editor • You can also apply for one of 6 committee chair positions • International: • President • Vice President • Trustee (11) • There are 11 trustee positions available. Each trustee is in charge of representing 3 of the 33 districts. MRS Information and resources provided by the District Members Relations Committee 2011-2012

  4. How to decide what to run for? First, ask yourself: • what kind of leadership position do you want to serve? • what experiences/talents do you have? • what position fits you? • what would you like to accomplish? • what kind of workload can you personally handle? After deciding what to run for, make sure to understand the duties of the respective position. MRS Information and resources provided by the District Members Relations Committee 2011-2012

Elections • Club officers candidates run for elections during a club meeting in which the members elect the new officers. • Lieutenant Governor candidates run for election at Conclave, hosted by your current, or multiple, LTGs. Elections • District candidates ask for divisional endorsement (approval by the home division) at Conclave, and officially run for election at District Convention. • International candidates ask for divisional endorsement at Conclave, district endorsement at District Convention, and run for election at International Convention.   7. Preparation • talk to/inform your Lt. Governor for help and details • list out and organize your ideas and plans you have for the position • attend the training conference for a Divisional, District, or International position hosted in Jan/Feb • don’t hesitate to ask your LTG for help!
