1 Samuel16:2,3 Sacrifice • There were two sacrifices requiring a heifer. • Numbers 19 required the sacrifice of a red heifer to cleansesomeone when they became defiled. • Deuteronomy 21 required the sacrifice of a heifer to removeguilt from a city when someone was slain and they didn’t know who did it.

1 Samuel 16:13-15 Switched • David is to serve with the spirit. • God’s spirit doesn’t empower someone living in the flesh.
1 Samuel 16:16-20 Search • The evil spirit causes Saul to search out David.
1 Samuel 16:21-23 Solution • The evil spirit would depart in the presence of David praising God.
