Cook Childrens Medical Center • Level 2 Trauma Center • 85,271 pediatric E.R. visits and trauma patients served last year • Helicopter and fixed wing transport
Senior Leadership Support • Senior leaders set the tone and the stage for donation within the hospital. • Set expectations for hospital performance (conversion rate) • Assume joint accountability with OPO for results • Maintain contact with OPO executive leadership • Provide the leadership to ensure best practices are implemented
Cook Childrens/LifeGift Collaboration • We respect the OPO’s mandate to maximize donation. • We jointly serve donor families and children awaiting transplantation. • Formed close relationships throughout many levels of the hospital and LifeGift: leadership, clinicians, public relations. • Actively involved in the board level of LifeGift.
