MCSC IUID Legacy Approach “Seek & Apply” Process Step 3. Engineering Analysis Step 1. UID Candidacy Process Step 2. Pedigree Data Collection Step 4. Marking Instruction Development • DoD Criteria • Disposal Date • OEM Marking • MEP-I/MCI-LP2 • Collect Data • PM Approval • Deliver Data to Engineer • & TDS Teams • Develop Marking Instruction • Review & Finalize • Upload MI to SharePoint • Conduct CM of MIs • Conduct Analysis • Determine Mark Location • Determine Label Type • Determine Adhesive Type Step 5. Determine Equipment Quantity and Location Step 6. Conduct Inventory & Validate Equipment Data & Location Step 7. Label Upload File & Production • Data Manager develops upload file & places on SharePoint. • QA applied to Data through PDT & TDS. • Updated file returned to Data Mgr. • Label Requests provided to ISM for label production. • Printed Labels Organized by Unit • Receive Baseline Equipment Quantity & MEF Locations • Pull Unit CMRs/SERF Reports • Sort equipment according to owning unit & location • Develop unit inventory sheets.. • Develop initial label requirements. • MMTs conduct inventory to validate serial numbers, quantities, and locations. • Fill out data discrepancy reports. • Provide validated data to data manager & ISM for label production. • Pull appropriate MI for equipment. • Validate Label HRI against Data Plate. • Prep & Clean equipment surface. • Apply IUID label to equipment. • Take picture of data plate & UID label. Step 10. TDS QA, Storage & Upload to DoD Registry Step 8. Mark Equipment per MIs Step 9. Scan Marked Equipment • Scan IUID Label. • Download Scan reports/data. • Upload scan export files to • SharePoint. • TDS applies QA to data. • Resolve Discrepancies • Store QA’d Data • Send TDS upload to DoD Registry. • Confirm Receipt. • DoD Registry Accepts & Approves. • Confirm DoD Registry Approval. Revision 4 – 28 October 2010
MCSC IUID Legacy ApproachPedigree Data Collection • Pedigree Data Collection, 58 Data Elements • DoD/Registry Criteria • GCSS-MC Requirements • Financial Data
MCSC IUID Legacy ApproachPedigree Data Collection 3. Liaison with PG POCs & Begin Data Collection 1. Provide Information & Status Briefs to PGs 2. Confirm PM POCs 4. Collect & Finalize Pedigree Data (TFSMS, Haystack & MERIT) Gain PM Approval 5. Provide Pedigree Data Information to Engineering 6. Pull MEF Specific Data to MMT Execution Teams to support MMEP & Planning 7. Provide validated MEF Specific Data to TDS Data Mgr 8. Track & Resolve MMT & FSR Discrepancy Reports regarding pedigree data
MCSC IUID Legacy ApproachEngineering Analysis • Identify Existing Drawings or ECPs • Leverage Data Plate – Label Right, Left, Bottom or Top • Conduct Engineering Analysis • Coordinate with PM Systems Engineer • Identify Environmental Conditions • Determine Location • Identify Surface Material • UII Label Size, Materiel & Adhesive • Validate Process, i.e., Test & Evaluation • Develop “Draft” Marking Instruction • PM Approval • Publish Validated Marking Instructions
MCSC IUID Legacy Approach Communications • MEF In-Briefs • Scope, Schedule & Draft Letter Of Instructions • Base Newspaper Article • Command In-Briefs • Item Unique Identification (IUID) 101 • Marine Corps Order 4410.28 • Official Naval Correspondents & Messages • Identify POCs
MCSC IUID Legacy Approach Coordination • Initial PEI Quantity & Locations • Coordinate W/Unit - Obtain Unit CMRs & SER Files • Unit Operational Tempo/Liberty Schedule • Validate TAMCNs Against “To Be Marked” Listing • Commodity Locations • Create Inventory Work Sheets
MCSC IUID Legacy Approach Serf Report
MCSC IUID Legacy Approach “ To Be Marked “ “TO MARK” LIST SCRUBBED ONLY TO INCLUDE PREDESIGNATED NATIONAL STOCK NUMBERS
MCSC IUID Legacy Approach Inventory & Validate • MMTs Inventory & Validate • Create/Populate Data Discrepancy Reports • Quality Control Checks Data • Data Manager Creates Label Production Request • ISM Print Labels
MCSC IUID Legacy Approach Post Inventory Worksheet “TO MARK” Asset OEM Marked Asset Serial Number Discrepancy
MCSC IUID Legacy Approach Label Production Request
MCSC IUID Legacy ApproachLabel Production • Data Manager Uploads File - Label Production • Labels Cleaned & Loaded In Jig • Jig Placed in MMC, Settings & Adjustments Entered • Labels Produced • Labels Verified • Final Quality Control/Assurance • Labels Organized Unit (Binders)
MCSC IUID Legacy ApproachMarking • Validate Label Against Equipment’s Data Plate • Prepare/Clean Equipment’s Surface • Apply label IAW Marking Instruction • Scan IUID Label • Photograph Data Plate & Applied Label • Download Scanned Data & Photo • Upload Files to Sharepoint
