  2. Story Creator • Terminal Objective: The fourth grade student, using the ArtSmart website will enter the Kids’ Area and learn about Indiana history, art, social studies, as well as reading and writing, while interacting with the website. • Social Studies 4.1.1 • Writing 4.4.2 • Reading 4.1.1

Objectives • Writing :Student will select one of the three paintings based on image of paintings and descriptions and write a short story based on things they see happening in the painting. • Art :After review different paintings of their own choice, student would be able to write about the painting at specific identify and list three major differences among paintings without the additional external support. • Social Studies • Reading

  5. Guiding Questions: • Writing • What important thing was happening that caused the artist to create this painting? • Art • What color stands out to you in this painting? What can you tell from the painting? How many people are in the scene? What do you think they are doing? If you can take one thing from this painting, what would you take? What color do you want it to be?

  6. Social Studies • What was the primary method of transportation during the period of time being illustrated in this painting (tie to timeline)? Note: Should we create a timeline in our prototype – perhaps over top of the three paintings? • What was the primary method of communication during the period of time being illustrated in this painting (tie to timeline)?

  7. Reading –Offline Activity • What do you like about the story you are reading? • If you could add one thing to this story, what would you add? • What is the tone of the writing? Ex: Gloomy. Cheerful. Adventuresome.
