  5. Selecting Core Classes Language Arts or Language Arts PAP History or History PAP Math or Math PAP Science or Science PAP Consideration should be given to current grades and level of involvement in extra-curricular activities when selecting classes

Math and Science • Math • 8th Grade Math • 8th Grade Math PAP • Science • 8th Grade Science • 8th Grade Science PAP Advance Testing • Testing into Algebra/IPC • Students currently enrolled in Math 7 PAP MAY test for Algebra. *Placement in Algebra is contingent upon exam score. • Students currently enrolled in Science7 PAP MAY test for IPC. *Placement in IPC is contingent upon exam score.

Physical Education1 semester required Physical Education (One Semester Option) YEAR LONG CLASSES Physical Education Boys Athletics Girls Athletics Dance I or Dance II Leadership Officer Training Corp (LOTC) To participate in Athletics students must have a current UIL physical on file by the first day of school . TISD provides a date in the spring for ALL athletes in the district to get a physical at TMHS for a very discounted rate.

Band, Choir, and Orchestra levels • Level On Course Verification • The Level listed will be the natural progression-this Is NOT the final placement. • Fine Art students are evaluated throughout the year, and the director determines their final level prior to the school year. • Example: If student’s course verification lists “symphonic Band” this indicates the students progression from concert to symphonic. • Students may have a new level on their schedule in August.

  18. Course Selection Timeline January 22-24 students will select their courses through History class. February 5verification sheets showing student course selections will be sent home, with students, for parent review. February 13 1stPeriod All Change requests are due. If no changes are needed-you do not need to return the sheet Course verifications show classes students selected, and is not a schedule of classes. NO Changes will be made after 2/13. No schedule changes will be made until the 1st progress report, of the 2019-2020 school year.
