  1. 2-Tier Layout (RK 11/20/07)

  2. 1-Tier Layout (RK 11/26/07)

  3. Existing Keck AO System Rotator, TTM & OAP optics actual diameters used Everything just passes 120” dia field 75” off-axis field point partially vignetted Rotator M1 is 121.6 mm from focus LGS & dNIRI dichroics left in output beam

  4. Modified Keck AO System Rotator M1 increased from 220 to 260 mm dia, M2 from 160 to 180 & M3 from 290 to 350 mm. M1 to M2 separation increased from 243.5 to 290 mm. Rotator M1 is 110 mm from focus. TTM increased from 203 to 240 mm OAP1 increased from 250 to 320 mm

  5. Modified Keck AO System w/ Dichroic Fold to Narrow Field Relay Dichroic at 15 deg incidence used to fold beam after 1st relay to narrow field relay 150” diameter field shown up to 1st narrow field relay OAP 30” diameter field shown through narrow field relay Dichroic transmits light to dNIRI/LOWFS 2nd OAP of narrow field relay could potentially be shorter focal length This gives the best wavefront quality to the narrow field

  6. LGS WFS LGS Dichroic – Another possibility Put the dichroic in the collimated space after the 1st DM Can use a transmissive optic to reconverge the light to the LGS WFS
