Ki Doin (Leading/Guiding the Ki) • Doin = energy cultivation • Consists of three broad disciplines • Ki exercises similar to forms of yoga, qi gong, • martial arts • meditation. • Ankyo = medical treatment. • Consists of anma (massage) and kyosei (physical manipulation). Glenn Grossman, L.Ac.

Meditation Technique • Meditation and MovementTraining your sense of the flow of qi. The qi, through practice, can follow your intent.. This is why we say, ‘the mind leads the qi.’ • Sit upright in a comfortable chair. Close your eyes. Feet about shoulder width apart, parallel to each other, flat on the floor. • Hands: 1st ten minutes - palms down touching your knees. 2nd ten minutes - palms up with fingers open. • Breathe naturally letting your shoulders and arms relax. Endangerment and Contraindications • Contraindications – avoid areas of broken skin, suspected tumor, or broken bones, major blood vessels, also LI4 SP6 and abdominal points and points in the back near the fetus in pregnancy • Endangerments – kidneys, stomach and spleen, eyes, Anterior or posterior triangle of the neck, Axillary region, Femoral Triangle, Popliteal fossa.
