Deal Registration processIBM is introducing a new process for Business Partners (Resellers and Distributors) to request deal registrations.To make this work easier for the IBM business partners, we will introduce two changes.We are aligning the Systems Deal Registration to the opportunity, meaning thatthere always need to be a opportunity, before a Deal Registration can be made.If no opportunities are available, the opportunity can be created in MySA.Attached we will describe how you as a partner can make a opportunity, followed by a Deal Registration.The second change is that all Deal Registrations will be made in MySA.As a Business Partner you can now make Systems Deal Registrations in MySA, and It will be the same tool for SaaS Deal Registration, and over time Software Deal registration.

  3. Creating the Opportuity

  4. Create a opportunity in MySA When you connect to MySA, as a Business Partner you will get a list of your Opportunities and your Incentives. An incentive can be Systems Deal Registration, but also other type of incentives like SaaS Deal Registration and CVR. In this scenario, we like to make a Opportunity, therefore you should click on Opportunities.

  5. Create a opportunity in MySA MySA, will take you to the Opportunity screen. Here you can initiated creation of a new Opportunity by using the + sign.

  6. Create a opportunity in MySA Fields marked with *, are mandatory for making a Opportunity Specifically for the client name it is recommended to use the Advanced Search, Where you can search on Customer name or CMR number on country level

  7. Status labels The Sales Stage need to be 4, to be able to make the Deal Registration afterwards For the Opportunity is possible to add a team member. This could be the reseller adding the Distributor. You will find the Business partners to be added in the dropdown menu For the Deal Registration when created , the Distributor , and Reseller will automatically be added to the opportunity

  8. Status labels Continuing down the form you need to create a new line item. In the systems Deal Registration you can create Power, Storage or Z brands (only used in very few countries) The drop down menu will provide the list of sub-brand for you to select from. Systems Deal Registration will only use the Brand to identify other Deal Registrations for the same opportunity (Duplicate check

  9. Line item details Finishing up the line item, you need to add the Amount (Value), the Bill date (pre populated with the decision date), and Create the Revenue line item . A revenue line item is required for each brand included in the Deal Registration.

  10. Completing opportunity Line item and Opportunity When the line item is created, you need to submit the opportunity, and it will be created. Details of the line item will be presented and the data of the Opportunity will be presented

Create the Systems Deal Registration To create the Systems Deal registration you should scroll further down on the opportunity, and you will find the Incentives Using the ‘View/Add Incentives’ you will get a list of available incentives. Here you will select ‘Systems Deal Registration’ Incentives’ For your information, in this list you will find all the incentives like SaaS Deal Registration

  13. Creating a Systems Deal Registration Opening this form, you will get the base information on the Deal Registration (as know from the opportunity) and you will see that the form is prepared for information like Incentive status, Incentive Key etc.

  14. Creating a systems Deal Registration Scrolling down the form you will get presented with the End Customer information from the opportunity. Under the customer number, you can select the exact customer (if several exist under the CRM) by clicking on the on the dropdown . Continuing down the form, you will get presented with the product information and the Business Partner information (*). You can now select the Reseller and the Distributor (drop down facilities are available) * The system have now identifies if this is a new client situation. Tech Data France

  15. Creating a Systems Deal Registration The system will now preform a Duplication check. If no duplicates, you can continue the Systems Deal Registration. If duplicates the will be a pop-up menu as shown below. .

  16. Creating a Systems Deal Registration Continuing the Systems Deal Registration form , you will get to the Deal Registration details, where the fields marked * need to be filled in . Followed by the Sales Activity information that serves under the investment review to evaluate the sales activities the partner have preformed with the customer. These are optional fields

  17. Creating a Systems Deal registration This takes you to the point of submitting the Systems Deal Registration. Note, you can only attach documentation, after the Systems Deal Registration is save Draft / Reopen or submitted.

  18. Systems Deal Registration If this request for Systems Deal Registration can get auto approved, you will get the approval confirmation from the system…..you will note the status approved, and the you can find this Systems Deal Registration under you incentives in the main MySA menu..

  19. Systems Deal Registration If the request for Deal Registration was a duplicate, then the following text will show at the submission level. As a Business Partner you can then decide if you like to submit for manual review (investment review) or not pursue this Deal Registration. If you submit the incentive status will show ’Submitted for review’
