The Chinese Cultural Revolution Database (1966–1976), published in 2002–2011 (Third Edition in both CD and Online), including comprehensive sources on Chinese political movements between 1965– 1985. 2. The Chinese Anti-Rightist Campaign Database (1957–), published in May 2010 (in both CD and Online), covering sources on Chinese political movements between 1955–1958.

The Chinese Great Leap Forward–Great Famine Databases (1958–1964), estimated publication time 2014, covering sources on all the political and economic turmoil during this period of time. (forthcoming) 4. The earl y -mid 1950s Chinese Political Movements Databases, estimated publication time 2016, covering sources on the Land Reform, the Thought Reform, and the Three Socialist Transformation. II. Librarians’ Responsibility for Providing Free Access to Information & Preserving the Historical Truth 1. The core editors of this database are a group of Chinese librarians in the United States: a) Yongyi Song (California State University, Los Angeles) b) Dr. Yuan Zhou (The University of Chicago) c) Dr. Zhijia Shen (University of Washington, Seattle) d) Dr. Zehao Zhou (York College at Pennsylvania) 2. According to ALA’s Famous declaration of “The Freedom to Read Statement,” providing free access to information and preserving historical truth are every librarian’s “profound responsibility” and an essential “proposition” of our profession.
