In 1997 Deen published The Lady & Sons Savannah Country Cooking and The Lady & Sons Savannah Country Cooking 2 and has released two more since then. • Deen began her relationship with The Food Network in 1999. • Deen guest starred and was featured in several shows on the network. • She was given her own show in 2002 called “Paula’sHome Cooking”. • “Paula’s Party” premieredin 2006. • “Paula’s Best Dishes” was created in 2008. • In June 2007, Deen won a Daytime Emmy Awards for “Paula’s Home Cooking” Television shows and Books
Started with a catering business called “The Bag Lady”. • January 1996 Paula opened her first restaurant called “The Lady & Sons”. • In 2008, Deen opened another restaurant, the “Paula Deen Buffet”. • In September 2009, Deen announced a new dessert line to be sold at Walmart including signature pies Apple Crunch Top, Dark Rum Pecan, Old Fashioned Fudge and Gooey Butter Cake bars. Ingredients • 2 (14 1/2-ounce) can green beans, drained and rinsed • 3 cups diced cooked chicken • 1 medium onion, diced and sauteed • 1 (8-ounce) can water chestnuts, drained and chopped • 1 (4-ounce) can pimentos, drained • 1 (10 3/4-ounce) can condensed cream of celery soup • 1 cup mayonnaise • 1 (6-ounce) box long-grain and wild rice, cooked according to package directions • 1 cup grated sharp Cheddar • Pinch salt • Directions • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. • Mix all ingredients together and pour into a greased 3-quart casserole dish. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until bubbly. Chicken & Rice Casserole
