Focus Enhancing student learning by improving students’ ability to think critically
Critical Thinking Subcommittee • Provide added scrutiny and emphasis on critical thinking assessments. • Review institutional data from critical thinking assessments and identify goals and objectives to improve student learning.

Recommendations • It is recommended to promote the Gateway Website (www.SPCollege.edu/CriticalThinking) via the main SPC Webpage, department Webpages, and other publications (i.e., Blue & White).
Recommendations • Concerning discipline-specific assessments for critical thinking, it is recommended that SPC work toward encouraging faculty to make known what critical thinking assessments and activities they are utilizing.
Recommendations • After considering the various critical thinking assessments and comparing institutional benefit, it is recommended that ePortfolio resources be reallocated to administration of the Community College Survey of Student Engagement (CCSSE).
