  6. Oregon Life Safety Team Strategic Plan • OLST prioritizes efforts through their Strategic Plan 1. Maintain, support and expand smoke alarm programs (Vision 20/20 strategy 2) 2. Increase home fire escape planning efforts 3. Increase home fire sprinkler awareness 4. Target high risk populations for fire prevention and life safety education (Vision 20/20 strategy 4) 5. Support prevention efforts where they naturally compliment the OLST mission Oregon Office of State Fire Marshal

Oregon Life Safety Team Sub-Committees • The OLST utilizes a sub-committee structure to accomplish projects • Campus Fire Safety • Educational Messages • Home Fire Safety • Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Alarms • Water Safety (run independently by interested members) • Other temporary committees as needed • Members are welcome to participate on any sub-committees that interest them

Oregon Life Safety Team Looking to the Future • Continue to review and refine Oregon’s fire prevention and safety education programs, messages and campaigns • Continue to identify and address spikes in fire cause statistics and fatalities • Enhance information sharing with fire departments and partners within member regions • Explore ways to address other Vision 20/20 Strategies aligned with our goals Oregon Office of State Fire Marshal

Oregon Life Safety Team Looking to the Future • Identify ways to address smoke alarm installation campaigns > 10 years old • Identify ways to address homes with “hard-wired” smoke alarms > 10 years old • Explore ways to incorporate Web 2.0 resources into outreach and education activities • Enhance membership to include disciplines with common goals and outreach capabilities (Smoke-free Housing, medical clinics, Fair Housing Councils, senior services, public health, etc.) Oregon Office of State Fire Marshal
