TAA/Colorado Online Energy Grant • TAA/COETC serves TAA workers & others—WIA/unemployed/underemployed • COETC targets: • STEM Energy Sector Industries • Clean energy, wind energy, line technician, oil & gas, process technology & instrumentation, water quality management, mining/extractive technologies • Developmental Education • Expanded Online Delivery
TAA/Colorado Online Energy Grant Energy-based Content: Colleges • Clean Energy: FRCC/Larimer • Wind Technology: Northeastern Junior College • Oil & Gas: Aims Community College • Process Technology & Instrumentation:CMC • Water Quality Mgt: RRCC • Mining/Extractive Technologies: PCC • Line Technician: Trinidad State Junior College
TAA/Colorado Online Energy Grant Developmental Education • Major focus for the community colleges • All colleges will participate (15) • Redesign developmental curriculum: • embed energy content to motivate/ reduce time to completion • improve retention/achievement rates • Increase degree/certificate enrollments
TAA/Colorado Online Energy Grant Expanded Online Delivery • Hybrid and online trainingdelivery • Hands on training • mobile labs • compressed weekend site training • Open educational resources
TAA/Colorado Online Energy Grant • COETC works to: • Enhance capacity for employment in the energy sector • Strengthen communication between community colleges & the workforce development system including •TAA/Others •Business Services •Assessment •Data Tracking
TAA/Colorado Online Energy Grant Counselors/Case Managers Work • Identification/referral of eligible TAA participants/others to community college education/training programs • Assessment testing to match skills, competencies, & cognitive levels with college programs • Collaboration with community college career coaches
TAA/Colorado Online Energy Grant Business Services Work • Gather information from employers • Provide connectivity between employers and students enrolled in energy programs • Career Fairs, etc. • Assist student/graduate placement in internships and employment • Ensure Veterans Priority of Service for job placements
