  3. 1(this is where you should be at the beginning of a unit) • I can identify a few of the components of a WOD essay. It is a struggle for me to use my knowledge of the WOD essay components to produce a clear and coherent essay citing textual evidence to support my argument/analysis.

  4. 2 • I can identify most/all of the components of a WOD essay. I can attempt to use my knowledge of the WOD essay components to produce a clear and coherent essay citing textual evidence to support my argument/analysis.

  5. 3 • I can identify all of the components of a WOD essay. I can successfully use my knowledge of the WOD essay components to produce a clear and coherent essay citing textual evidence to support my argument/analysis.

  6. 4 • I can teach the components of a WOD essay to others. I can use my expertise of the WOD essay expectations to produce an exemplar essay citing textual evidence to support my argument/analysis.

  7. Mark an X on your paper. • If you say that you’re a “2” or higher, you will need to be able to define WOD and list off most/all of the components of a WOD essay. • It’s okay to not know! That’s why we’re doing it!
