Cardinal Rules for Success • Be respectful in all actions and words • Be prepared mentally, physically, and emotionally • Have all materials ready ( paper, pen/pencil, books) • Be in your seats ready to go before the teacher starts the class. • Be diligent in the completion of all class work and homework assignments • No Late Work will be accepted unless excused from class • Cheaters will be penalized • Absences are your responsibility • No personal down time
Teachers dismiss classes not the bell • We work till the dismissal from class • The teacher is in charge • Exercise good judgment in all decisions: Engage in appropriate manners.
Failing classes-Remember when you fail a class you must retake it and this will take away your elective classes. • Cell phones-Teachers control their classrooms. • Hall passes-9 for each 9 weeks. If you do not use yours, you could get up to 15 points for each teacher on a test grade.
Cardinal Rewards • These trips will include only the students that meet all of the qualifying standards: Big trips may include, but are not limited to the following: • December (No more than 3 infractions, no unexcused absence from August) • Bowling trip • Skating trip • May (No more than 5 infractions for year, no unexcused absence from January and 3.0 GPA for year. • Beach Bend-If time allows • Skating & Park
Teachers of the academy also feel that all the students should have the opportunity to feel successful and be included in some trips and/or rewards; these may include but are not limited to: • These rewards can be revoked or altered based upon freshmen class behavior in all situations, especially within the cafeteria. • Picnic on the school grounds • Field day • Movie in the auditorium • Concert
