New Members and Officers • Great start to the year with the induction of 8 new members. • Membership increases to 27 • New Officers take up positions in September 2016 • Steve Trodden – President • Paul Walton – Treasurer • John Baitson - Secretary
SEPTEMBER 2016 • DG Paul Allen Club Visit • Key Message to increase Membership • Plan to have Independent Irish District • Outlined changes to the Charities Act and Vulnerable Persons • Congratulates Club on success of C2C • Presentation of €6000 raised on Coast 2 Coast to Make A Wish • Annual fee increase to €80 was carried.
October 2016 • Annual Financial Reports presented by Paul Walton with acknowledgement to Dermot Deegan and Paul for their great work. • Donations approved : • Sleeping Bag appeal ( €250), • Peace Poster (€150), • Guide Dog ( €500), • Measles ( €100), • Hugh's House ( €100) and John Joe Marathon (€150). • Supply and fitting of Carbon Monoxide Alarms for Senior Citizens. (€544) • Oliver Toner formally resigned from club. Membership reduced to 26 • Launched new website. • Unique Visitors – 2901 • Page Views - 5612

December 2016 • Centennial Project • Food Appeal at Dunnes, Tesco and Super Valu • Raising €12,000 worth of groceries.

December 2016 Helping The Homeless At Christmas • Homeless Mobile Run – Dublin- Food distribution • Lions Club Donated €300 • Individual Lions donated money, Clothes, Food and Toys • Single Mother with three kids provided with hamper, toys and voucher for Tesco. • Lions Club provide B&B for 5 homeless people at Christmas. • Christmas Hampers

January 2017 • Distribution of winter fuel to the elderly in Ashbourne and district. • Funds were raised during the year to support this project through bingo and quiz nights. • Many families benefit from the project which will keep homes fully heated throughout the winter. • Message In A Bottle – Golf Club – Provided for Golf Bags • U13 FAI Football Competition – Ashbourne United
