  2. Farming Techniques Aquifer: Underground water source Irrigation: artificial watering of farm land, often by pumping water from an aquifer Sodbusting: Farming on the plains Crop rotation: Farming technique in which various types of crops are planted from year to year

  3. Farming Techniques: Part 2 Shelter Belt: a line of trees to block wind and prevent erosion Stubble Mulching: soil covering composed of unused stalks of crops/plants. It can prevent erosion and conserve soil moisture Terracing: Creating ditches or ridges that create level areas on the sides of hills Contour Farming: Plowing and planting crops around hills or the natural shape of the field.
