Thinking About what We Eat • “Go Foods” are foods that are good for us and help our bodies grow and become stronger. They contain protein and good carbs, fruits and veggies. • Can you name five Go Foods? • “Whoa Foods” are foods that have a lot of sugar, salt, and fats in them. Eating too many “Whoa Foods” is unhealthy and can cause harm to your body over time. • Can you name five Whoa Foods?
Watch a short Brain Pop Movieon Nutritious Foods • Go to the PRR website – Kid’s page • Look under “Health and Wellness” • Click on Brain POP • Look for the “Click Here to play the movie” • In the movie watch Moby discover: “What is the key to a healthy diet? See if you can find out the answer while you watch! • After the movie, come back to the slide show for the next activity
What did PRR kids eat yesterday? • On the next slide is a chart about food • Everyone will get 5 stickie notes. • On each stickie note write or draw one thing you ate yesterday. • Everyone will get a turn to stick their foods on the chart to classify their food as a Go food or Whoa Food • After the chart is made talk about: What foods should PRR kids try to eat more of and why?What foods should PRR kids try to avoid and why?
