SMHI Buoy network and ferrybox

This article provides information about the ocean buoys, coastal buoys, wave riders, and ferrybox systems used in the Swedish Coastal Monitoring Network. It describes the metrological and oceanographic equipment used, data transmission methods, and ongoing research projects. The article also introduces the new Swedish research vessel and its capabilities for monitoring and research purposes.

  5. Ocean Buoy

  6. Ocean Buoy Results from deployment 2018-2019 Service and maintenance can be done during the monthly monitoring cruises SMHI performs.

  7. Coastal buoy SMHI owns two coastal buoys located on the Swedish west coast. The coastal buoys measure salinity, temperature, oxygen, chlorophyll fluorescence and current in near real time at the surface. Salinity, temperature and oxygen is measured at a separate CTD-system next to the buoy, in logging mode. Nationally funded project that includes: - University of Stockholm - University of Gothenburg - Kalmar, Linnæus University - Umeå University
