Austin Learning Center • Started in 1998 • Host– AGE - Non-Profit Organization • Facilities -- 13 CPU’s, Proj., DSL, Server • Volunteer’s -- Approx. 50 to 55 • Student’s / Year -- 300 to 400 • 95 % of Equipment from Grants • Operating Costs
Technology Seminar for Non-Profits Sponsored by IBM and SBC Global
Goal: to improve and streamline non-profit organizations through better use of technology: • Donations processes available through internet • Reporting processes on-line • Registering clients • Web page development • Feedback to the community through e-mails and web • Newsletters
Goals continued: • Branding and Marketing your nonprofit • Use of Internet in Fund Raising • Access Data Base - for collecting Metric's and Performance • Digital Photography to increase marketing • Digital slide shows on-line for donors and clients
How to accomplish • Conduct a one day seminar for 50 participants • Have 8 sessions of 1 hour 15 minutes in duration, with 2 running concurrently. • AM and PM break out area of 15 minutes • Lunch in the cafeteria • Classes conducted in the lab and in the President’s Room at AGE. • Seminar to run from 9:30 to 3:30
The Tentative Agenda • 9:30 AM - 10:30AM Introduction and Sessions 1 & 2 • 10:45AM - 11:45AM - Sessions # 3 & 4 • 12 AM to 1 P M - Keynote and Lunch (The Keynote : IBM and SBC giving short 7 to 8 Minute Overview's of " Their Criteria for Evaluating Grant Request's“) • 1:15PM - 2:15PM - Sessions # 5& 6 • 2:30PM - 3:30PM - Sessions # 7 & 8
