The truth is that healthy and radiant skin is not really something you are born with. Its something that you have to pro actively work on. While our consumer society promote the idea of using a million products to get great skin, the reality is that it will probably do more harm than good. When it comes to skin care, its what you do not do more than what you do that will make the biggest difference. There are so many factors that affect your skin's color, texture and health and more than anything you have to protect your skin against a variety of factors that actually causes most of the skin problems we face on a daily basis. Diet is one of the biggest culprits. What most people do not know is that you skin is considered an organ. In fact it is the largest organ and responsible for eliminating a lot of toxins and other potentially harmful substances. In the process of eliminating all the "gunk" the appearance of your skin actually gets affected. Indulging a all those foods that you know is bad for you will actually affect your skin dramatically and fatty foods are notorious for bad skin. Things like smoking and drinking also has some very bad effects on your skin - especially as you get older and because these are actually toxins your skin ends up suffering most. Because your skin is the most exposed part of your body its usually exposed to a whole range of hazards and none is more damaging than the sun. The sun affects your skin on a cellular level and people who are exposed to a lot of UV rays ends up with badly damaged skin even at a young age. Its the number one cause of aging and wrinkles and unless you take great care the sun can damage your skin unlike anything else. Although wearing sunscreen helps, it really does not stop the damage caused by the sun. Although having a nice bronze tan when you are young seems desirable, it really ain't that wise because your skin will suffer in your later years If you're concerned about premature wrinkling of the skin take a deep breath.
