  1. Realignment of DR Septa Geometry/Optics Rematch 55th ATF2 Weekly Project Meeting, August 22 2007 M. Woodley (SLAC)

  2. Matching Procedure • set to Kuroda-san's SAD values (NOTE: values of element lengths between C1 and C2 in SAD deck are projected values): • kicker effective length • QM6R effective length and KL (maybe DRLBW44 KL is still OK?) • QM7R effective length and KL (maybe DRLBW44 KL is still OK?) • LL001 length (kicker to QM6R) • LL002 length (QM6R to QM7R) • LL003 length (QM7R to BS1X) • adjust AQM6R and AQM7R to match SAD dX ("Gy") at BS1X entrance and BS3X exit • w.r.t. SAD coordinate output: • BSi : dS= 0.000092 , dZ= 0.000002 , dX= -0.000000 , dT= 0.000000 • BS1 : dS= 0.000092 , dZ= 0.000002 , dX= 0.000000 , dT= 0.000000 • BS2 : dS= 0.000092 , dZ= 0.000002 , dX= 0.000000 , dT= 0.000000 • BS3 : dS= 0.000092 , dZ= 0.000001 , dX= 0.000001 , dT= 0.000000 • BSo : dS= 0.000092 , dZ= 0.000002 , dX= 0.000000 , dT= 0.000000 • w.r.t. MAD v3.7 coordinate output: • BSi : dS= 0.000075 , dZ= -0.000015 , dX= -0.000020 , dT= -0.000692 • BS1 : dS= 0.000075 , dZ= -0.000016 , dX= -0.000228 , dT= -0.000692 • BS2 : dS= 0.000075 , dZ= -0.000038 , dX= -0.000851 , dT= -0.000692 • BS3 : dS= 0.000075 , dZ= -0.000132 , dX= -0.001606 , dT= -0.000692 • BSo : dS= 0.000075 , dZ= -0.000227 , dX= -0.001939 , dT= -0.000692 • adjust BH1/BH2 bend angle to make X=-6.0 m @ exit of KEX2 • adjust length of drift L101 (KEX2 to QF9X) to bring Z-positions back to v3.7 values • rematch optics • vary EXT quadrupole strengths • allow QF7X to slide • allow QF9X to slide

  3. MAD SURVEY / SAD coord comparison QM6R QM7R KEX1 BS1X BS2X BS3X north “Gy” east “Gx”

  4. Magnet Position Shifts in Inflector west east QF7X moves ~27 cm u/s if I use Kuroda-san’s KL values for QM6R and QM7R; it moves ~8 cm u/s if I use DRLBW44 KL values south north

  5. Remaining Tasks for v3.8 • move nBPM and IPBPM test setups to drift between QF21X and QM16FF (Honda-san’s suggestion) • use spare QBPM and new mover for feedback IP-phase between QM14FF and QM13FF (who has mover?) • check Sugahara-san’s problem devices • use Okugi-san’s stripline BPM assignments • use standard “long-pipe” QBPM at QD6FF • check length of SLAC OTR (Doug) • add 1 m to drift between BDMP and dump • add a quadrupole just u/s of BDMP (Okugi-san ref) • KEK people will find 2 new IDX-like skew quadrupoles plus power supplies (?) • others?
