  3. MEL-CON PARAGRAPH Objectives: By the end of the next class period, with an 85% accuracy, students will be able to: • Write a Mel-Con Paragraph using data from the Explore test, and the Chapter 2 Solving Equations Test as they analyze how well they are performing in mathematics

Main Idea – First sentence of your paragraph (Topic Sentence) • How well did you performon the Math portion of the Explore Exam? • 2. Evidence – Support/prove the main idea - Begin with a transition • How well did you perform in Math (EXPLORE) compared to the College Readiness score (18)? • How well did you perform on the Math to the Composite Score? • How well did you perform in Math (EXPLORE) compared to your Grade in the Class? • How well did you perform in Math (EXPLORE) compared to your score on the Chapter 2 Test? • 3. Link – Fully explain how the evidence proves the main idea • Connects the evidence to the main idea • Each evidence should have a link that is 2 sentences long. • 4. Conclusion – Restate the Main idea and your evidence
