Your job is to determine which choice he should make: • Invest in a CD that earns 6% annually, compounded monthly. • OR • Invest in a mutual fund that earns 7% annually, compounded annually. This is another good chance to gauge your progress and preparation for the test TOMORROW! Take 7 minutes to complete as much as you can! Hints are timed every 2 minutes 2 Minute Hint: Must convert 6% and 7 years to monthly rates (.06/12 and 7*12) 4 Minute Hint: A = 1,000(1.005)84 and A = 1,000(1.07)7 (If you’re done, go on to continuous and figure out each if interest was compounded continuously). 6 Minute Hint: Which investment will have more money after 7 years?

Today’s Goal: Use 46 Minutes Wisely to Prepare for Test • You are either: • 1. Done with Review Packet and confident in your answers. • 2. Done with some definite errors or you made progress but didn’t finish. • 3. Didn’t get a chance to start the review packet.
Depending on where you are, here is your role today: • If you were #1: Check your answers against the answer key…fix errors… once complete, get a green card from Mr. C and become a teacher…do the Final Jeopardy in last 7 minutes of class. • If you were #2: Work on the review packet…figure out your weaknesses and come up to Mr. C when appropriate…when you finish check answers…do Final Jeopardy in last 7 minutes. • If you were #3: Start review packet…figure out weaknesses and come up to Mr. C when appropriate…check answers…hopefully have time to do Final Jeopardy
What will Mr. C be doing? • Mr. C will break the review packet up into 5 parts. I will spend 7 minutes on each part. • When I ask if you struggled with Part 1, if you struggled or have questions, come up to my group in the front of the room and we’ll discuss. • I will then go on to Part 2.
