Next Divertor/SOL meeting

Timing of next meeting (11th) Japan is one logical place (next in line) Sep.15-18 in Kyushu Univ. following the week of ICPP2008 4 days between 10/27 - 11/8 in NIFS or JAEA/NAKA. ( IAEA is 10/13-18, and APS is 11/17-22) 4 days between 11/24-28 in NIFS or JAEA/NAKA.

  1. Timing of next meeting (11th) Japan is one logical place (next in line) Sep.15-18 in Kyushu Univ. following the week of ICPP2008 4 days between 10/27 - 11/8 in NIFS or JAEA/NAKA. ( IAEA is 10/13-18, and APS is 11/17-22) 4 days between 11/24-28 in NIFS or JAEA/NAKA. Other possibility is around IAEA to join other groups Pedestal and MHD on ELMs - Italy or Lausanne? Next Divertor/SOL meeting

Potential meeting topics for discussion • D/T issues (as always) • Core, divertor compatibility (high q detachment, advanced scenarios) • wojtek., alberto • Partial detachment (Nobu, Marco, wojtek, matthias, blip, modellers) • Fueling density control, limit • Material migration • Material morphology and char. With respect to retention….. • Unipolar arcs, their characteristics (when & where they occur) affecting the core • Flows (Ghendrih, west) • Diagnostics followup, wall interaction, specifications (blip, alberto) • High-Z operation • Heat loads due to mitigated ELMs (alberto, wojtek) • Disruption mitigation, killer pellets, radiation, runaways… (alberto)
