  2. Question 5

  3. How did you attract/address your audience?

  4. I addressed my audience by incorporating a news travel section into my radio show.

  5. This attracts my target audience because they should primarily be drivers.

  6. iepeople who would listen to the radio in the car.

  7. I also decided to aim my show towards young adults, the reason being that I am a young adult and therefore know the ins and outs of what they are like and will enjoy.

  8. For example, my generation are starting to learn to drive, so therefore, I felt we needed to create a radio show that caters for us in particular.

  9. Another factor that will attract my audience is that it is a PSB, and by default would not have any adverts in between segments…

  10. a huge bonus as adverts distract from the main purpose of the show which is the news travel and weather.

  11. I also attracted my audience through the way I structured and edited my show.

  12. So the jingle had car noises and country sounds, which is quite unique to start a radio programme…

  13. but then the music becomes upbeat suggesting urgency of the news and this fades down to become the music bed.

  14. A further attraction is the variety of sounds throughout the programme to maintain the audience interest, from the presenters voice to editing in vox pops and an interview.

  15. The End.
