  1. BE-CO work for the TS 29 Aug-2 Sep P.Charrue - BE/CO - LBOC

  2. BE/CO work (1/3) • Planned intervention on the logging service during the technical stop: • server replacement and attribution of new storage, performed by the IT/DB support, will take place on the 30th August, starting at 9:00, duration 1h. • During this time direct logging to the DB and TIMBER access will not be possible. • => Done this morning and all is back as before • Changes to routers during the technical stop: • Monday IP1 -> New CCC/CCR Router, no perturbations except to IP1 (PS Access System only) if done correctly. • Tuesday IP50 -> New CCC/CCR Router, no perturbations except to IP50 for 1 minute (Vistars, Wall Screens, LHC/TI2/TI8 Beam Cameras, upper fixed display consoles in CCC) if done correctly. • Date to be chosen “OSPF reconfiguration on TN to GPN link”, 15 to 30 second cut in TN <-> GPN traffic • => Done yesterday this morning and all is back as before P.Charrue - BE/CO - LBOC

  3. BE/CO work (2/3) • The new version of japc-monitoring become PRO -> 3.4.0 • The version PREVIOUS -> 2.32.0. • Here are the changes/bugfixes from 3.0.0 -> 3.4.0 • [JMON-525] - Throw SubscriptionRuntimeException from startMonitoring/stopMonitoring to allow clients to handle it. • [JMON-522] - Wrong configuration saved in the ConfigurationLoader • [JMON-523] - Wrong method call to get the parameters from the configuration • [JMON-524] - Problem with DBAlarmResolver test after changing the dev db. • [JMON-521] - NPE when giving a uncompleteParameterDescriptor to addParameter method: • - provided more checks for a ParameterDescriptor fields correctness. They have to be filled in now. • [JMON-519] - Set ignoreFirstUpdate to false and ignoreCycleID to true by default in the japc-mon 3.x.x • [JMON-520] - NPE when adding parameter with converter bean id. • [JMON-514] - ParameterDescriptorBuilder does not return itself from addModule() method. • [JMON-513] - Add 'holdLastValue' attribute the jmon • Please notice that currently if any of the subscriptions cannot be started during the startup of the application the SubscriptionRuntimeException will be thrown. • This should be handled properly by the clients. Usually a catch is enough where you decide what to do (continue or exit the application?). • This allows for more fine-grained control of the subscriptions. • Release LSA for LHC/SPS with changes to allow publication of Trims • i.e. every time some trims a parameter, a notification about that will be sent via JMS. This is so that applications can subscribe to it and avoids pulling settings with high frequency just to verify whether they have changed or not. P.Charrue - BE/CO - LBOC

  4. BE/CO work (3/3) • The OASIS team will use this technical stop to try to find the route of a recurring problem which is somewhere between oasis server, JMS broker and oasis clients. It is easy to reproduce by restarting oasis-server. • The timing team will introduce a new rule in the Sequence Manager to avoid to send new hardware settings in the CBCM if all CPS cycles are not mapped on LSA cycles. • The CMW/RBAC team will: • New PRO release of cmw-rda v.2.9.x Java library RDA • The major changes introduced in this release (2.9.x): • 1. New, improved Array Calls API, which handles properly context information for each parameter. • 2. Improved re-subscription mechanism – better handling of exceptional conditions on FEC server. • 3. New, improved configuration for JacORB (CORBA implementation), which fixes “in-famous” blocking issue • 4. + many minor bug fixes .... • Upgrade of all Proxies (LHC & Injectors) • new version of CMW Logging library • integration with new CMW Tracing service • additional diagnostics for established subscriptions • code cleanup • Upgrade of RBAC A1 servers • improved db access code • improved error reporting for authentication failures P.Charrue - BE/CO - LBOC
