This meeting discussed the support offered by NA3 to SA1 in terms of registration management, event organization, workshops/retreats, and training courses. The meeting also addressed the support provided by SA1 to NA3 in terms of gLite plans, pre-production service, and course requirements. The aim of the SA1 open day was to advertise the infrastructure and introduce deployment procedures and usage policies.

Support from SA1 to NA3 • Information about gLite plans • Component by component release from JRA1 to SA1 • (JRA1 design document includes outline of APIs) • (Some test suites may be useful as basis for training examples) • NA3 to contact Nick Thackray (SA1) about pre-production service • Will run mixture of gLite + LCG2 • Access for course development (or even running courses)? • Release date? • SA1 can provide feedback on requirements • Anything else that SA1 can provide? • (JRA1/NA4 working together on test plans) • NA4-ARDA creating examples for physicists • Example: JRA1 can provide: • Some presentation materials on gLite • Training NA3 to give these presentations • Input when developing tutorials • e.g. test cases, e-mail advice • Assistance with installation (not support) of a training test bed ARM-2, ROC(27) – Bologna, 5 October 2004 - 4
SA1 specific course requirements • Sys Admin/Operations courses – LCG2 and gLite (cooperation with SA1 and JRA1) • Expert resource limited • Limited number of people with enough expertise to run the LCG2 install/admin course • DEFINE WHOM SA1 CAN OFFER • Potential new courses to be identified by SA1 • gLite • Courses will have to be developed to support the migration to gLite • How will our (SA1) operators be trained?
