  1. The Life Cycle of a Pumpkin SOL K.7 The student will investigate and understand basic needs and life processes of plants and animals. (c) plants and animals change as they grow, have varied life cycles, and eventually die.

  2. First we plant a SEED. Small Flat edible

  3. The SEED grows into a SPROUT. Small stem 2 leaves

  4. The SPROUT grows into a PLANT. Many stems Many leaves

  5. The PLANT grows a FLOWER. Bright and colorful Short life Larger leaves

  6. The FLOWER dies and then comes a GREEN PUMPKIN. Small fruit Smooth Seeds and pulp inside

  7. The GREEN PUMPKIN grows into an ORANGE PUMPKIN. Larger fruit Smooth Ribbed Prickly stem Seeds and pulp inside

  8. Inside the ORANGE PUMPKIN we find SEEDS for planting next year. And then the cycle starts all over again.
