Aims of EDSA • Developing and promoting international contacts • Exchanging ideas & dental know-how • Fostering collaboration and knowledge transfer • Comparing different educational systems • Creating globally connected student community In other words… Raise a constant “students’ point of view” in national and international forum. Expressing European dental students’ opinion on educational, professional and social aspects of dentistry.

EDSA Meetings and Congresses • EDSA Meetings take place twice a year: • Spring Meeting – every 2 years is held together with EDSA Congress • Autumn Meting – together with the corresponding annual ADEE Meeting • Previous EDSA events: • August 2009, Helsinki, Finland – 44th EDSA & 35th ADEE Meeting • March 2010, Bucharest, Romania – 45th EDSA Meeting & 7th EDSA Congress • August 2010, Amsterdam, Netherlands – 46th EDSA Meeting & 36th ADEE Meeting • April 2011, Leeds, United Kingdom – 47th EDSA Meeting

Research Projects and Awareness Campaigns SM!LE - Prevention Program • Leeds, UK – October 2010 • 2000 participants • 2 parts: • 1. the dental students spread leaflets about oral health as well as some promotion material to students from other faculties • 2. the students from the other faculties were invited for a free dental consult done by dental students.

Research Projects and Awareness Campaigns EDSA Research program 2011 • Launching: summer 2011 • Promote research activities among dental students • Informing students about research opportunities • Selecting and supporting outstanding students to present and publish their scientific papers

Dental Guide Collaboration EDSA-ADEE Database providing general information about: • Countries in Europe • Dental Education • Dental Schools: Admission and Final exams • Postgraduates Specialties • Students and Dentists Associations • Online and printed versions available • Distributed for free to all EDSA member faculties

International Student Exchanges EVP – European Visiting Program • Visiting foreign universities and exchanging dental experiences • Presenting culture, diversity and different habitsof the different European people • Hosting dental schools set up an agreed program for the foreign students • Short-medium duration of 1-3 weeks • Students receive an exchange certificateand submit an assessment report. • Partners and coorganisers present themselves through the exchanges
