Students’ attitude towards century By: Aime, Aaron, Domingo, and Eddie
California Standards • • 8.0 Student organized and describe distribution of data • by using of different methods, including frequency table, • histogram, standard line and bar graphs, stem-and-leaf • displays, scatter plots, and box of whisker plots. • • 17.0 Students determine confidence interval for a simple • random sample from a normal distribution of data and • determine the sample size required for a desired margin • of error. • • 18.0 Student determine the P-value for a statistic for a • simple random sample from a normal distribution
Hypothesis that the average rate of century is 3. The rates from 1-5 meaning 1 not good and 5 excellent.
Data Collection • In our group of four, we asked 25 centurions from each grade level which we assigned for ourselves, total of 100 sample, we used stratified sampling technique. We surveyed centurions during lunch and passing periods.
Data • Rate of school • Freshman:3, 4, 2, 2, 2.5, 3, 3, 3, 2, 2, 4, 4, 2, 3, 4, 3, 3, 4, 3, 3, 4, 4, 3, 3, 3, • Sophmores:3, 4, 3, 3, 4, 3, 2, 5, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 4, 3, 2, 3, 3, 4, 4, 3, 3, 3, 3 • Juniors:2, 3.5, 2.5, 2, 2, 1, 4, 5, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 2, 1, 5, 2, 2, 2.5, 1, 2, 2, 4, 2 • Seniors:4, 4, 4, 3, 3, 4, 4, 4, 1, 3, 4, 3, 3, 3, 4, 3, 2, 2, 3, 3, 3, 2, 3, 3, 2
Statistics • From our survey, student’s sample mean is 2.99 with sample standard deviation of .857.
Confidence Interval • We are 95% confident that the population mean scale rate for Century overall is between 2.820 to 3.158
Hypothesis Testing 1.Hypothesis 2. Test Statistics 3. At 5% level of significance , we failed to reject , there is enough evidence to support the claim
Conclusion We hypothesized that Century students rate school is 3. In our survey of 100 students, we find the sample mean of 2.99 with a standard deviation of .857. We conclude that the population mean for all the students is between 2.820 to 3.158 with 95% confident. We test our initial hypothesis with 5% level of significance, and confirm our hypothesis is correct.
