  2. Current Status of Pilot Program • 13 Approved Carriers • 10 with Permanent Authority • 3 with Provisional Authority • 1Carrier with passed PASA pending insurance • 1 Carrier with passed PASA to be published

  3. Operational Information–As of 5/11/14 • 55 Vehicles • 62 Drivers • 18,938 Crossings • 4,864 Inspections • 924,455 Miles in Border States • 193,752 Miles beyond Border States Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration

  4. MCSAC Subcommittee Task 11-03 • Form a subcommittee comprised of at least: • 1 member from the U.S. motor carrier industry • 1 member from the safety advocates community • 1 member from the law enforcement • 1 member from remaining MCSAC membership • Invite the DGAF Administrator to participate in a non-voting, advisory capacity Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration

  5. MCSAC Subcommittee Task – 11-03 • Assess the safety record of participating carriers • Advise FMCSA concerning designated tasks related to the program • Issue a final report addressing if FMCSA conducted the program consistent with the Federal Register notices Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration

  6. Federal Register Notices • April 13, 2011 – Announced Pilot Program concept and requested comments • July 8, 2011 – Responded to comments • October 12, 2011 – Modified requirements for drivers with LFCs Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration

Pilot Program Description • Will not exceed 3 years • Will end on October 14, 2014 • Carriers may specify drivers and vehicles • ELP assessments • Driver license reviews • FMVSS and ECL • CVSA Decals • Only international freight • No placarded HM or passenger carriers *Crossing & inspection data is current through August 12, 2012 Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration
