  2. Aim • To prioritise areas for development in the planning and delivery of literacy, language and numeracy in the workplace, and become familiar with useful associated resources

Objectives By the end of the training session participants will have • considered and shared features of successful workplace practice • identified challenges for workplace delivery within their organisation • explored resources available for further practical CPD activity • completed a self-assessment action plan to identify their priority development areas for workplace delivery • identified specific training modules for further CPD.

Features of effective practice • Management ‘buy in’ – senior and operational • Positive and contextualisedpromotion and marketing to employees • Clear linkages between LLN and organisational business objectives and priorities, including impact on the bottom line • Partnership working – internal and external – which supports sustainability • Flexible delivery models • Relevant, contextualised programmes using a shared professional sector-specific language • Robust assessment procedures • Clear progression routes for employees • Evaluation and clear impact measures • Celebration of success
