OKLAHOMA COMMUNITY COLLEGE ENROLLMENT Enrollment Share Oklahoma’s community colleges have experienced a dramatic increase in enrollment in the last decade. This increase is driven by not only returning adult students, but also by significant increases in recent high school graduates, international students, and students who already have college degrees.

Enhancing Community College Success • Fully fund concurrent enrollment programs. Colleges currently receive 72% of the tuition reimbursement. • Increase Section 13 Offset funding by $500,000 per institution to address maintenance issues. • Allied Health Programs Initiative.
PRIORITIES GOING FORWARD • There are three critical priorities for Oklahoma’s community colleges. • Improved student success rates Oklahoma’s community colleges must continue to initiate proven strategies to improve the retention and graduation rates of students. • Adequate funding to support enrollment growth and success strategies Oklahoma’s community colleges must seek funding to support the enrollment growth experienced over the past decade and to maintain and grow current success strategies. • Limited expansion of applied baccalaureate programs Oklahoma’s community colleges need to be able to respond to current and emerging workforce requirements by adding a limited number of bachelor’s in applied technology degrees—consistent with the respective community college’s mission and in areas that do not duplicate programs at universities.
