The project aims to establish a well-managed Marine National Park in Lyme Bay, benefiting both fishermen and conservationists. Through research on static gear impacts and responsible practices, the initiative seeks to ensure a sustainable marine environment. The Southern IFCA leads this vision, striving for a balanced approach for healthy seas, fisheries, and industry viability. By gathering socio-economic and environmental data, the project aims to inform future fisheries management measures and create a self-sustainable management structure in Lyme Bay for potential adoption in other Marine Protected Areas.
