  2. Dortmunder U – as a culture and creative centre • High potential of culture and creative business: 1.700 Freelancer und entrepreneurs with over 800 Mio. Euro turnover and additional 462 creative business in IT branch (Stand 2007) • Complementary institution in the near vicinity connects an inner city district with the city in terms of space and content • Dortmund U essential part of the implementation of the integrated concept of actions for the site „Rheinische Straße“ with urban, economic and social aspects • Building is an important monument of the industrial history of the ruhr aera in almost original appearance Brüssel, 12.11.2009

Dortmunder U part of the culture capital 2010 • For the first time creative economie is one of the main subject of the culture capital • Dortmunder U is integrated in all acticities of the culture capital, e.g.: “Fliegender Bilder” film installation by filmmaker Prof. Adolf Winkelmann on the concrete colonnade (outside), in the foyer and on the vertical walls (inside) • The opening of the culture and creative center attracts international interests and stimulate the marketing of the culture and creative site • Total investment: 45.789.999 €ERDF: 22.895.000 €Land: 9.158.000 €City of Dortmund: 13.736.999 € • Completion: May 2010 Brüssel, 12.11.2009
