Physical Characteristics • The clouded leopard is 2 to 3 feet long. • The clouded leopard weighs up to 33 to 50 pounds. • The clouded leopard has a tan coat and is marked with irregular shaped dark edged patterns that look like clouds.
Environment • The clouded leopard is found in Southeast Asia. • The leopards live in temperatures from 65 to 120 degrees. • The clouded leopards are sometimes found in Southern China,eastern himalayas,northeast india.
Animal Behavior • The clouded leopard is a carnivore. • Its preys are mammals,reptiles, and fish. • The clouded leopard mostly travels alone but they don’t when giving birth or mating.
Why Endangered? • The leopards are endangered because sometimes deforestation. • The leopards are also endangered because of habitat destruction. • The leopards are being hunted down to.
Protection and Conservation • Some zoos take in these kind of leopards. • Another conservation effort is to carefully watch the leopards in captivity by helping them mate. • Zoos and national parks and wildlife try to help train the forest rangers to prevent pouching in the parks.
